Two-day intrusive ground investigation at a live soap and soft-chemical manufacturing site, including new gas and groundwater monitoring installations.
The Project
EnviroSolution worked with Delf UK to undertake a ground investigation at one of its soap and soft-chemical factories in the North West. The investigation was required to establish existing ground conditions and assess the contamination status of soils and groundwater.
The Challenge
Previous monitoring installations had deteriorated and become inoperative, and the new work had to be completed within a live working environment.
The Solution
EnviroSolution designed and undertook a two-day intrusive investigation comprising six window-sample boreholes to depths of up to 5 m below ground level. Each location was fitted with a combined gas and groundwater monitoring standpipe. Soil and groundwater samples were submitted for bespoke laboratory analysis and subsequent gas and groundwater monitoring was completed.
The Benefit
The team mobilised quickly, renewed the monitoring capability with durable well covers and coordinated gas and groundwater monitoring to minimise repeat visits and cost.
