Apley Head Solar Farm Geo-Environmental Site Investigation - EnviroSolution case study
The Project

The Project

EnviroSolution was approached to undertake a Mineral Resource Assessment and design an intrusive geo-environmental investigation to reduce environmental uncertainties at a 115-hectare site near Worksop proposed for a large solar farm.

The Challenge

The Challenge

The supplied project information records that the preliminary desk study identified a historic military-training use and an associated UXO consideration that had to be addressed while maintaining tight investigation deadlines.

The Solution

The Solution

The UXO risk was communicated to the client and intrusive works were undertaken under the supervision of a qualified UXO specialist. The investigation included window-sample borehole drilling, infiltration testing, and gas and groundwater monitoring.

The Benefit

The Benefit

Potential constraints were identified early, allowing the client to understand additional site-work considerations. EnviroSolution coordinated the specialist input so the investigation could proceed within the client's required programme.
