Critical review of existing contamination information and Environmental Statement material for a proposed waste-management facility at Deeside Industrial Estate.
The Project
EnviroSolution was approached to review available documentation on the contamination status of a site proposed for a new waste-management facility. The task was to determine whether the previous Environmental Statement needed updating and whether further investigation was required after revisions to the final site layout.
The Challenge
The client needed confidence that older third-party investigation work remained appropriate for the revised development and that key contamination risks had not been overlooked.
The Solution
EnviroSolution critically reviewed previous third-party site-investigation data and the relevant Environmental Statement sections. The previous scope was compared with relevant guidance and the chemical-analysis results were reviewed in detail by an experienced geo-environmental engineer.
The Benefit
The review provided due-diligence confidence on the site's contamination status and potential construction and operational risks. Additional mitigation considerations were highlighted so the client remained informed before progressing the development.
