Envision AESC CDOIF MATTE Assessment
Rapid desk-based CDOIF MATTE assessment and environmental-receptor review for a major-accident-hazard facility.
The Project
EnviroSolution was contacted to complete a MATTE assessment for the Envision AESC facility. The work used information on major-accident scenarios, including release rates, quantities, durations, event frequencies and associated protection and mitigation measures.
The Challenge
The assessment needed to determine whether the identified scenarios could create a major accident to the environment and whether more detailed quantitative assessment would be required.
The Solution
EnviroSolution completed a desk-based review following the CDOIF approach, identifying environmental receptors within 10 km and reviewing potential source-pathway-receptor linkages. The supplied project information also records site-visit and water-sampling input as part of the assessment.
The Benefit
The work was completed within five working days and concluded that the assessed major-accident scenarios presented a highly unlikely environmental risk, providing the client with a clear basis for the next regulatory decision.
