The Project
EnviroSolution was contacted to manage urgent removal and labelling of asbestos-containing materials at the former TJ Hughes department store on London Road, Liverpool, which was being redeveloped into residential accommodation.
The Challenge
Previous survey information had identified asbestos-containing debris and gaskets that needed to be managed safely while refurbishment work progressed.
The Solution
The ACM debris was removed under controlled conditions. Gaskets that were to remain in place were labelled with asbestos warning labels so they could be readily identified during future work.
The Benefit
The work was completed over a weekend to meet the programme. Air monitoring provided reassurance that areas previously affected by damaged ACMs were suitable to reoccupy, while the remaining asbestos was clearly labelled for ongoing management.
